BARRY ROSS

Mr Barry Ross has been at V.A.J. Byrne & Co. Lawyers for over 30 years. He is an accredited specialist and practices in all types of litigation, commercial law, wills and estates and all general law matters. He is a notary public. He obtained in his youth the Queens Commission with the Australian Army Reserve, is a life member of Apex, an active long standing member of Rotary, a Past Master as a Mason, maintains an interest in karate, and has a cattle fattening farm which he enjoys.

ANTON BIERMAN

Legal Practitioner Director, LLB, B.Com

Anton was originally admitted in 1992 as an Attorney of the High Court of South Africa after serving two years of articles. He became the managing partner in a new law firm which he set up in 1998. He decided to relocate to Australia in 2006 after accepting an offer from VAJ Byrne & Co. Lawyers to take up employment with the firm and further his career in Gladstone. Anton was admitted as a legal practitioner of the Supreme Court of Queensland in 2007 and is also admitted to appear in the High Court of Australia. He is also an admitted Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand. He is currently a member of the Queensland Law Society and the Law Society of the Northern Provinces (South Africa). He primarily undertakes commercial and business law matters and is also very involved in the areas of property law, wills and estate planning.

MONICA ERRIDGE

Solicitor, LLB, Assoc Deg Law BLJS

Monica completed her Bachelor of Laws through QUT and undertook her 2 year Articles of Clerkship on the Gold Coast where she practised for almost ten years in commercial law and wills and estates.  Monica relocated to Gladstone and  started with the firm in February 2007 where she continued as a commercial lawyer prior to commencing predominantly in family law. Monica practices mainly in family law, but also continues to practice in commercial law, conveyancing and wills and estates. Monica is admitted in the Supreme Court of Queensland and the High Court of Australia. She is a member of the Queensland Law Society, The Family Law Practitioners Association and the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia. Monica works part time in office and part time from home as she has a young family.

KYLIE DEVNEY

Legal Practitioner Director, LLB, BA, Grad. Dip. PLT

Kylie was born and bred in Gladstone and completed both her primary and secondary schooling locally. She attended the University of Queensland in Brisbane to obtain her qualifications and upon graduation in 2009, immediately started employment with V.A.J. Byrne & Co. Lawyers. Kylie oversees the Conveyancing department and works in criminal law, family law, commercial law and wills and estates. She also does general law and court matters. Kylie is now also involved in the management of the firm.

RYAN MITCHELL

Solicitor, LLB

Ryan was born in Gladstone and grew up in the Northern Territory and Dysart, completing his high schooling in Dysart and Mackay. He attended James Cook University in Townsville to obtain his qualifications and graduated in 2015. Ryan commenced his employment with V.A.J. Byrne & Co. Lawyers in January 2015. Ryan practices in conveyancing, criminal law, family law, commercial law and wills. Ryan enjoys playing rugby league and fishing in his spare time.
