Caly Smit

Caly began her studies at the University of Pretoria in South Africa where she consistently ranked among the top of her class and obtained her Bachelor of Laws with distinction.

As a law student, she honed her practical skills at the University of Pretoria’s Law Clinic, where she assisted community members in need of legal aid, nurturing a passion for practical, hands-on work. After her admission as an attorney, she became a director at a respected South African law firm, where she led the Property and Commercial Law departments. Her role involved managing high-value transactions, from major property developments and residential conveyancing to corporate structuring and commercial contracts.

In 2020, Caly relocated to Australia and completed bridging studies through Charles Sturt University, qualifying as an Australian solicitor. Now based in Bundaberg, QLD, Caly works predominantly on conveyancing matters, handling property transactions for residential and commercial clients. She is also heavily involved in all variety of commercial matters and rural law matters.

Outside the office, Caly balances her legal work with a passion for wellness, often dedicating time to her fitness routines. She finds relaxation in gardening and interior design projects, always ready to refresh a space with her unique sense of style. For Caly, these pursuits bring balance and reflect the same attention to detail and creativity that she applies in her legal practice.
